An ancient, Asian-style grill, the kamado is a thick-walled charcoal cooker that imparts rich smoky flavor to meats, fish and vegetables.  They have the ability to cook at temperatures from 200 – 700 F.  These cookers have a number of advantages:

  • Versatility – You can direct grill a burger and corn on the cob at 450F or bring up the heat and sear a steak at 600 F. Add the pizza stone and bake a pizza at 700F.  Install the heat shield to provide indirect heat and bake bread or roast a chicken at 350 F.  Add wood chunks and smoke ribs low and slow at 250 F.
  • Year Around Use – Kamado cookers are well insulated and can be used year around, even in our climate.
  • Precision Air control – This gives them excellent temperature control, makes them fuel efficient and they retain moisture in the finished cook.
